What's the best way to pet these guys? Bilbo lets us stroke his beak and when he's really happy, lets us rub our fingers in the fluff at the back of his neck. Are there other things these guys like? I don't want to do anything to offend him!

You're doing fine. Staying from the neck up is the thing to do; back rubs and belly rubs are out since they stimulate mating behavior. Beak rubs are fine as long as the parrot likes them. Beaks are very sensitive and the beak rubs apparently feel good.

Rubbing your fingers in the back of his head and neck will come in handy later when he moults. That’s the area they will need your help with their pins. Some days Casey loves getting her pins done and she asks by saying tickle tickle. Other days it’s a nope. Lol

'Tickle-tickle' that's adorable!!
He's such a cute little guy - I want to kiss his little cheeks, haah! But I like my face the way it is, so I just tell him I want to kiss his cheeks and make the kissy sound, and he makes it back, and that's good enough, haha!

He might agree to actual kisses on the cheek. Clyde does most of the time. Or I kiss the top of his head and he kisses me back on the cheek.

I kiss Bonnie on her cheek or the top of her head every day and she never bites me (poor hubby can't do that, though...).

Yoshi loves his beak rubbed, however no matter what I do, I can not get him want a neck rub. First bird I have ever had who has not wanted this. Mind you, I have to keep in mind, that Yoshi is only 6 months old and we have only had him for just over 3 weeks. He was with the breeder before that, beautifully hand trained, but yeah I struggle to give him any kind of neck rub! Which would be handy to help with his pins. (First post, thought I better rip the bandaid off)

If Yoshi doesn't want neck rubs, then you might want to refrain from giving them, or you could end up needing more Band-Aids. You can try again from time to time, but it may be that Yoshi just plain dislikes having his neck rubbed. Then again, at some point he may decide he likes them. Just proceed with caution.

Quakers are capricious little devils. Clyde refused to let me pet his head for a long, long time. Suddenly a few months ago he started demanding head pets. Who knows but what he'll change his mind again and chomp me for attempting to touch the Royal Crown.
