Hello! Our Quaker is a 6 month old female named Lola. Since early January we've been struggling with regurgitation every couple of days and a significant yeast infection. Our vet took some blood last week and called me today to let me know Lola tested positive for Bornavirus. This is the first bird we've ever owned and this came as a shock. The vet is going to start her on Celebrex on Monday and said to feed her 4 nutriberries each day. She's also taking (and will continue to take) Nystatin and Fluconazole for the yeast infection. We will see the vet again in 3-4 weeks.
Has anyone here had any experience with Bornavirus? It seems pretty scary and potentially difficult to manage. I greatly appreciate any suggestions or advice!
Thank you, Andrea

Hi Andrea, I am sorry to hear that Lola is sick and I’m sorry I don’t have any experience to help you. Sounds like you have a very thorough vet, I hope they are able to help Lola

Oh, no. That sounds difficult... Like Caseysmom I don't have any knowledge or experience of this, but I wanted to say "welcome" and I hope that you go OK with Lola's treatment.
