Hey there, Recently whenever i go near my quaker parrot it "coos" like a soft chirp, I can't tell if its scared, anxious or happy? He is a green 9 week old quaker.
Any help would be appreciated.

If it is a soft chirp he's probably not too scared, but at that age it's hard to tell! Does he shy away from you when you approach him? If not, he's probably OK and just starting to communicate with you. Talk softly to him and don't force physical contact. You could open the cage door and let him choose if he wants to come out and approach you. Let him set the pace. If he is scared you will probably see him moving away from you and squawking somewhat loudly.

Your parrot may be telling you that he's happy to see you.
