I was sitting in the birds' room yesterday with Clyde on my shoulder and he was giving me kisses and pecking at my hair tie and I reached up to offer a finger (I thought he had lifted his foot to step up) and he chomped me so hard that he drove the point of his beak into my finger. It's still sore today. He hasn't bitten me that badly for quite a while. I have no idea what brought that on. So Rocky and I left and went to hang out in another room with Ringo Starling, who never bites me, and I told Clyde that's what we were doing. Rocky was on his rolling perch across the room when Clyde bit me, so it wasn't that Rocky startled him or did anything at all. Rocky was actually dozing when this happened.

Sorry to hear that you got chomped again. I'm not sure what could have prompted the chomp, unless Clyde didn't care for the particular finger you offered him, or it was the wrong hand. He may have wanted to step onto your left hand if you offered the right, or vice versa. Hard to tell what a QP has on his mind sometimes.

It was the right hand I offered and that's his preferred hand. I learned THAT lesson long ago. LOL Then last night, Rocky chomped my arm, but not hard enough to bruise this time. I told HIM I'd already had my chomp and wasn't interested in another.

Hope all you bites are feeling better, Casey never bites me but a friend came over tonight she saw Casey out of her cage and asked can I let her on my hand? I said you cant go too fast, she doesn't know you, but she was already reaching..... Casey lifted up her foot stepping on nicely, then looked down at her hand and gave her a bite... she tried not to react like I said, put Casey back on her cage where she proceeded to start laughing at my friend as if to say lol you feel for it! They do love drama!

Oh my lord, this is so familiar.... Bonnie is a feisty one, as most of you know. She actually PRETENDS to want a scratch and will put her head down for one, then bite/nip and sometimes laugh afterwards. Also, she does not react well to the step-up finger sometimes. If I cajole her into it (using a sing-song voice) she will decide to step up now and then, but only if I say "come on" in a seductive tone - never if I actually say "step up", which she seems to dislike. Yes, they LOVE the drama of everything and are extremely needy, egotistical and narcissistic...I'm sure there are other traits I'll think of once I've posted this.

I made a deal with Rocky after a couple of really bad bruises during hormone season. The deal is he can't bite me until the previous bite heals. Clyde won't agree to that deal.
