Just wondering if Quinoa has to be cooked for the QP. My roommate just gave me a bag for my Pickles

I think I would cook it. Casey likes the cooked version. I’ve never tried uncooked. I just googled and it says wild birds don’t like it raw and it has a covering on it of bitter saponins that also blocks some nutritional value Others might be able to offer more insight, but it’s simple to cook and good for both you and your Quaker. You can freeze it in tiny portions if you make too much

Definitely cook the quinoa. I doubt that the birds would like it uncooked anyway. Caseysmom's suggestion of freezing small packets of the cooked quinoa is a good one. I do that with several of the foods my parrots eat often and it works out well.
