Today it was time once again for the dreaded flock nail clipping. Trying to hog tie 3 parrots and clip their nails is a chore that leaves all participants exhausted and ready for a nap.
Yoshi's nails seemed different this time, however. They seemed brittle and kind of flakey. It felt more like they were breaking off than them being cut off. It has me a little worried, so I thought I'd ask if anyone else has experienced anything like this?

I haven't experienced anyhing like that with any of my parrots. The first thing that comes to mind is a vitamin deficiency of some sort. A consultation with your parrot's vet would be a good idea-- a telephone call or E-mail might be all that's needed to find out what may be wrong and what can be done to help.

My Turqoise GCC, Linq, broke a couple blood feathers under his wing, which lead me to take him to the vet (he's gonna be fine). So while there I also asked her about this issue with Yoshi. She said it sounded like a deficiency and to add a supplement to his water. So we will see how that works out!
