We have had the busiest month on record. We've put a new roof on our house, and that includes both the actual structure and the covering (metal instead of shingles); we've been cleaning out the in-laws' home so we can sell it (last parent died in December). We've been moving some of the furniture (a LOT of the furniture, oh, my aching back) from their house to our house and giving away our stuff because theirs is nicer. Hubby keeps finding boxes and boxes of knick knacks and keepsakes and hauling them home and then we have to find places to put them. Plus, of course, working full time jobs. The birds were understanding at first but are getting more and more ticked as this keeps dragging on. They also didn't care for the noise and the banging as Hubby rebuilt the roof, and the mess that kept falling past the windows as he tore off the old roof and pitched stuff into a giant dumpster in the driveway.
I squeeze out at least a little time every day for them, and have managed to keep up with filling bowls and changing paper, though not always with deep cleaning, but it's not as much time as they want or are used to. Rocky has taken up screaming again, after cutting back quite a lot. Freddie has taken this as a challenge to practice his Rocky impersonation and is also screaming though, of course, at a much lower volume since he is a much smaller version. LOL Even Ringo, who is generally my easiest bird in every way, has become somewhat querulous and demanding (for her). Sigh. And we're both exhausted. I shall be very glad when everything is done and we can go back to some kind of normal, and so will the flock.
