So for the update! He loved the rock idea! I used stones rather than rocks though. I used to collect stones when I was younger. Yesterday, I put some in a small storage box, gave him some of the stones he seemed interested but did not get in. Today, after he saw that they are OK, they do not move at all and of course they will not bite him, he approached more and to take stones, he did get in! It was so fun to watch!
You are very lucky since you can take him outside whenever you want, we do not have such opportunity here with all the buildings everywhere.
For bathing with me, I do not like very very hot water, if I close the door of the bathroom, the humidity goes up. Now, I will make him stand close by, maybe after a time, he will want to get in with me. I will make sure the water is just warm not too much hot!
I will mist him everyday then, although he does not like it very much. Thank you!

It would not hurt to spray daily however... just pay attention to your Quaker... and by his actions you will know whether he likes it or not. If he seems not to like it... try less often.
Oscar loves his bath... and when he is ready... he is ready!!! He bathes in the bathroom sink. I will splash the water a little to make sure it is not too warm... they prefer it a little cool... and he gets up on my finger and I lower him down. He loves it. He absolutely hates the shower and he hates the spray bottle. I think this has something to do with his sitter... but it is okay. As long as he keeps clean I am happy.

One thing that works for buddy when I want him to come to my hand and he's reluctant to perch on my finger is that I offer him an open hand, palms up and sweet talk him saying "let's go ". He knows this is a fun thing to come and he's gonna get a lot of attention..like in a little bit when I wake him up for breakfast. There are times when he's un receptive to a finger, but must view an open hand as less threatening.

Hello Julianna! His nostrils are showing if I do not mist daily and he sneezes more. I took him in when I bath ans splashed some water on him he kind of liked it there. They all have different tastes!

I put my hand out flat, palm upwards, and say "Come on!" in a cajoling/playful type of voice and she usually does what I want. It's just their natural reactions to be feisty at first.

Sorry Dinucci, I haven't seen your post. Since I work at the same time, I may miss something sometimes. So, I followed your advice and get some nasty bites... thank you By the way, he is OK with arm, he comes and goes whenever he wants. As long as it is above the wrist, he does not bite and come actually. When it is "training time", he is used to fingers now, I can say. But sometimes he just tricks me and steps up to my wrist lol. But he cannot get a treat this way. We like being nasty rather than feisty..

But he cannot get a treat this way. We like being nasty rather than feisty.. Hey mbkaya! Sorry bout the bites ! One thing some people do is when the bird is ready to step up on to your hand is pull it away when he beak tests it for strength. They will often open their beak and go to nibble a bit to test it out. Some think that the bird is trying to bite so that in pulling your hand/finger back, the bird actually interprets this as an opportunity to dominate and eventually bites. Remember they are always looking to get the upper hand so to say, which is why a bird should always be perched below your eyesight line..example,I don't let buddy perch on my head..I figured you knew this but just in case because early on,they will naturally try to insert their dominance.. All that aside, the reason I'm replying here is that this trick without hands I've taught buddy is pictured in the video I'm sharing with all ya folks out there. He picked this up in 1 day and is really cute! He sits on my shoulder, says "kisses" then presses his beak into my cheek and gives me a smack sound, then pulls his head back to normal. Here it is ! Enjoy cause it really funny ! I was thinking of you when I remembered it !

Those are really cute games dinucci... excellent ideas. When I say "boogie" it usually entices Oscar to want to go after my nose... ha ha ha... Sometimes he will get a hair out for me... ewwww... but not anymore cause he scratches too hard and it hurts. It is really fun to watch them dance with you... I will do motions in an extreme way and Oscar will follow... one day I will get this on video cause it is really cute to watch. After a bath Oscar doesn't want anything to do with either of us. He will go to the kitchen a try to hide behind the bong. This isn't unusual because when they are wet they know they cannot fly so they hide from all danger. If it is cold in the house Oscar will come to me and sit with me on the couch and curl up in my hand ... cause it is nice and warm there. Awe that's cute! Buddy will snuggle with me on occasion but prefers laura. He sits a top her knees bent up twards the ceiling. He allows her to put her hand over his wings and puffs up. She runs her fingers backwards against his chest feathers and head as he turns his head from side to side or points upwards. He even let's us pinch his cheeks ! This is a pre bedtime ritual here and man does he love the attention ! I got my lil baby back since it looks as tho the hormone thing is over ! Going on another fishing trip, but only 3 days this weekend,so we'll see how he is when I return Sunday...angel or beast haha..he better be nice or no fish for him ! He loves salmon ! Cheers to all !
