Yes Oscar does bite my hubby but I have gotten a few nasty bites myself... with blood and all. Usually it is because I am carrying something in my left hand while he is on my left shoulder... I am NOT allowed to do that... lol.
Every morning when I have breakfast I carry my little plate in my left hand and my glass of milk in my right hand. I will lean into the cage and Oscar will jump on my left shoulder. The other day... I had the plate in my right hand and not my left. Oscar refused to get on my shoulder until I switched the plate around. It was either that or I would have gotten a nasty bite or screamed at... lol

OK, so from what I'm gathering here, maybe my Verdito isn't male? He has always raised his tail when trying to get "romantic" with me. He's never dropped his tail to. But he's never laid eggs nor has he done any other sexual behaviors. I never had him tested, but the breeders told me he was male. Would male QP's ever raise the tail? Verdito also really hates when I leave him to go out for anything. He had bitten me a few times a couple months ago during my routine of good-bye. I thought it had to do with the mating season. Unfortunately, before I left for church yesterday, he bit me, making me bleed (OUCH!). He really doesn't bite that much - but every once in a while. Most of the time it's accidental because he gets so excited during play time. These bites when I'm leaving are a new thing. Any thoughts?

Frugaldiva..I get the same thing at times..certain times of the day, like after breakfast,I have to run out and do errands ect. However this coincides with his normal time to snooze and as such,he likes to be left alone..hard to believe there is such a time. So I just say my goodbye at the door..a tired bird can be a crabby nippy bird as I've found out..mostly at night if we still have him out past 9pm..he stops playing and starts crabbing.
