Hi! I'm so sorry to post such a silly thing here lol. I'm brand new to this and got my Baby about 9 weeks ago so you will probably see me posting on here quite a lot now that I've joined. I just wondered what the quaker parrot poops should look?? When I have her out the cage she poops quite a lot and they seem to just be clear?? Someone said they should he quite chalky?? Is there anything wrong or is this normal? Thank you in advance! Amanda

Asking about parrot poops is not at all silly. It's often the first indication that something is not right, so it's good that you want to learn about it. A normal poop has three parts, all of which are present. Clear urine, white urates, and green or brown fecal matter. All of that can vary somewhat depending on what they eat or drink. Stress can also affect things. If she has recently had a good amount of water or fruit, you might see only the clear stuff for a short time. I like to use white cage liners so I can see the output for the whole day. If you're seeing only the urine for more than a few "poops", it might be something to get checked out.

One day my Quaker ate a lot of carrots and when he pooped orange I was in a panic... thinking this isn't right... he is truly sick. Only when I looked around and saw bits of carrots everywhere did I remember how much he had eaten and that everything was okay.
Always good to check the poop.

At first I thought the poop was just clear but recently it's much more normal looking so it's all good

You will soon become as obsessed with parrot poop as the rest of us are. My mom once asked me, when I first got birds, why I felt I had to change their paper EVERY single day. I told her so I could look at their poop. Words cannot adequately describe the look on her face. LOL After I explained, she understood. Mine are cage-free now (we moved and they have their own bird-safe room -- they still have cages but they don't spend a lot of time hanging out in them, except one, and she does so by her own choice) so I don't have to change paper every single day, but I know where each one spends the most time and I still check poop every day.

I would like to know how many times in one day is normal? I have poop all over, like the floor and my clothes I'm wearing. I just want to make sure it's normal or not

Three poops in an hour is about average. It can be more or less through the day, depending on when and how much a parrot has eaten or drank.
