sorry to hear about the skin cancer, but I'm glad to hear it's being taken care of! Had to go back today - a supposedly dissolvable stitch from the underneath layer worked its way through the skin and stopped it healing. I didn't realise until last night (a week and a half since the stitches were removed) that there was one left! At least it's out now.

I wish I could teach him to be gentle. He means well. I've found Bonnie to be 'on again, off again' in terms of nipping/preening behaviour. The last two days she's been quite naughty. No doubt she will be all sweetness and light again soon - until the next episode. These quakers really are bi-polar.

I've heard those disolvable stitches can be trouble. Glad you got that taken care of!

I had one of those removed from my upper back not long ago. No stitches, but a scar that resembles a childhood vaccination site. It would be a lot more bother on the face.

It doesn't look TOO bad, but I wish I could be sure there aren't more stitches left, as the skin is a bit bumpy...we'll see.

I too am sorry to hear about the skin cancer and hope all is well. Thank you everyone for such excellent advice. I put Pidge into a pet minding place for 4 nights while I went camping. Whenever the owner took him out for a bit of a cuddle he bit her. He is welcome back but not for cuddles. I'm reading up about it as much as I can. He was so excited to see me and ran round and round in circles. He's much more talkative and is giving me anasked for kisses. He is very bonded to me which doesn't auger well for future holidays. The cleaner came while I was away and the place looked so clean and nice til I got him back.

The cleaner came while I was away and the place looked so clean and nice til I got him back. Haha... We all know what you mean! I'm glad Pidge was OK and is welcome back despite being a bit contentious. Now you can relax a bit knowing he'll be fine when you go away. I think that if it's just a few days at a time it's probably safer for the bird sitter not to let him out, especially if he's cranky.
