My Yoshi is a picky eater. He won't eat pellets and will only nibble at fresh fruits and veggies. So I decided to do research and find a way to trick him and after several experiments this is what I came up with and he loves it. I made it as healthy as possible.
Yoshi's Bird Bread
1 cup 100% whole wheat flour
3/4 cup water (I use bottled)
1/2 tbs chia seed
Yellow bell pepper
Broccoli
Carrot
Frozen veggie mix
Apple
Raspberry
Banana
Oats
Penne pasta
Brown rice
Pellets
Nutriberries
Organic unsweetened apple sauce
I boiled the penne and the rice and drained and set aside. I put the chia seed in a small bowl and added some water and let it sit. I also crushed up several nutriberries and put them in a bowl and set it aside. Then I shredded and diced carrots, diced broccoli, diced yellow bell pepper and put them all together and set them aside. I then peeled, cored, and diced apple and put some in a bowl and some in a hand mixer cup. I cut up the banana and put some in with the bowl of apple and some in the mixer cup. Then I did the same with the raspberry. I added a little bit of the apple sauce to the mixer cup then put the lid on and used my hand blender on them til it was all mixed in to a sauce then set it aside. I took the frozen veggies and blended them also and set aside. I took and added the flour and water in a mixing bowl and mixed. Then I added the chia seed, pellets, and nutriberries and stirred it all together then I put a handful of oats, the penne, rice, both the bowl of fruit and veggies and the blended fruits and veggies, a tbs of apple sauce and mixed it all together. Then I spread it out in a glass pan (I don't use any cooking sprays) and put it in the oven on 350 for about an hour. Pulled it out after and cut it up put some in the fridge and the rest in the freezer for later.
This is the only way I know he gets plenty of veggies, fruits, and pasta. If your bird isn't picky you don't have to blend any of the ingredients.
You can use any fruits or veggies with this recipe.
