Here's Ralph's newest structure built from stainless steel spoons and the spice rack as its foundation:

He has made it so much easier for you to get a spoon. What a clever little quaker

Haha great job! It's amazing how strong the little buggers are being able to carry something as heavy as a spoon!!! Clever boy

That is so cool! He is neat, those would be pretty heavy to lift and manoeuvre!

He has made it so much easier for you to get a spoon. What a clever little quaker As I often tell Ralph: You're such a big help for such a little parrot.
He will sometimes carry the big heavy soupspoons from the dishwasher over to the cabinet while perched on my shoulder, and hasn't dropped one yet. He also once picked up a friend's cell phone (an old-style flip-phone, by no means lightweight) and carried it for several feet before dropping it onto the floor. "That's too heavy for him to pick up," my friend had said, just before Ralph made off with his phone.

Ralph must be not only the 'gentleman' version of a quaker, but the 'Superman' equivalent as well! I can just see him in my mind's eye ferreting through the cutlery, picking out the spoons.

Now that is so cool. He even has each one of them facing the same way so that they would fit. Awesome job Ralph.

Picking out the spoons is my job. I have to hand him one, and if it's not the kind he wants, he'll say acckkk! and show me which kind he prefers. He'll take the spoon, jump onto my hand so I can set him on top of the cabinet, and then carefully position each spoon the way he wants it.

Perhaps he is on to something! A counter-top spoon dispenser could be quite useful!

Sometimes Ralph will bring some of his sticks over from his cage to add to the structure. I offered him some plastic straws too, but since they're not nearly as sturdy as stainless steel and wood, he doesn't care to use them.
