I know I've said it before but I'll say it again, I cannot believe how different Skye and Loki are!!!
From day 1 Skye just wanted to be with us, up on our shoulders or where ever, just as long as he was with us! Within a day or 2 he was stepping up. He's a little messy with his eating but I didn't think too bad. He hardly ever pooped on us. He'll just fly back to his cage and we yell out good poo and cheer like idiots and he screeches back at us!! It's almost like we say 'good poo' and he says 'you're welcome' lol! It only took probably a week before he felt comfy enough with us to let us give him tickles and head scratches. He never flew up on pictures or curtains or anywhere high really cause he just wanted to be with us! He would give us only a little nip if we did something he didn't want us to. He's a noisy little thing and loves to do all different types of whistles at us! All in all he's been a fabulous little guy! A bit fickle really, one day I'm the favourite, other days it's Scott or Joel...... But really a good boy....
Now Loki is so different! He flings his food all over the floor! He is quite nervous of us. The first 2 days he wouldn't come anywhere near us just flew up as high as he could on curtains and pictures. So of course Skye would follow him. So we decided just this once we would clip his wings to let him get used to us. Not sure if it was the right thing or not and I feel guilty as hell... Anyway it's done now. He will not go anywhere near our hands, but if he back up to his cage and present him with my shoulder he'll climb on ok. He'll take food from my hand no problems (little messy pig he is). But as soon as I put my and anywhere near him he gives me the most softest nip, but if I persisted I'm sure the soft nip would become more. Do I persist or leave it to him? He hasn't really found his voice yet but has let out a few screeches if he can't see Skye.
So after all that I'm trying to tell you how different they are and how different we are with the 2 of them. As I said in my subject it's funny the things we do. So because Loki is still shy around us and won't go near our hands he has to get on my shoulder by whatever means he could (as he can't fly of course). So a few days ago we progressed. Still won't go near my hand but if he's on the floor I knelt down and he'll grab hold of my pants or dress or whatever he can reach and flutter his way up my back till he gets to my shoulder. Won't just let it be easy and let me pick him up, lol has to get up without touching me lol! It's so darn funny! So I'm constantly on my knees letting the little bugger flutter up my legs and back to my shoulder!!!
The things we do for them!!!!!
