I am a new quaker mum and loving it. I have two dogs, 2 chooks, 2 budgies and a cat as well. The cat is off bounds to my baby for obvious reasons. My new baby is only 10 weeks old, a green male called Coco. Looking forward to reading all your hints and tips. After loads of research and nicely asking hubby I was allowed to get Coco on Sunday. He is a joy. What I am finding is that his moods change from day to day for example yesterday he was quite quiet and sooky, today he is loud and mischevious. No two days are the same with him. I will add a photo when I get my camera fixed. Have a great day Lesley

Welcome to the forum to you and Coco. Shah and I live in Sydney. Shah is currently moulting which makes him a bit moody. Coco hasn't been with you for very long so he is still settling in and getting used to a different routine. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask them on this forum. We have a great bunch of people here and you will learn quite a lot - and have some laughs along the way.

Welcome to you and Coco! Quakers do like to keep you guessing what they'll do next-- sometimes it seems like they have multiple personalities.

Welcome lesley and Coco! Quakers are wonderful little birds. You are in for a treat! They definitely have different moods from day to day... I've found that our QP, Cupcake, has stabilized over time and become more predictable... although I'm sure that's not how it goes for all of them Feel free to ask any questions you might have! We're all happy to help!

Howdy Lesley and Coco. I think the majority of regulars on here are from Aussie... and they all said I could stay with them at their house for free if I ever get to visit your beautiful Country. (ha ha... just kidding). I am from northern Ontario, Canada.... so my English might be a little strange.
I am sure you will find this forum full of valuable information... and we are all here to help you or give you suggestions... whenever you need us.

You have an open invitation here, too, Julianna! But then I guess Oscar would have to go to the sitter's again...

Edit: The top bit was meant to be quoted from Aaron's post, but I'm not doing too well using my mobile for this!

Cupcake throws us curveballs as well, but it seems like they get easier to handle over time... Maybe that's me being more experienced, I dunno... She's been pretty fiesty lately though. She's really hormonal right now, and fiendish about all kinds of things. Just when I think she is trained not to go to the floor, I find myself feverishly trying to keep her from rappelling down the side of the bed to the floor. She wants something down there. All I know is I do not want this bird on the floor, ever.
