Oh, Dani. Knowing it's coming is not the same thing as being ready for it. I wish healing for you and your family, when the time is right.

Oh dear, I am so very sorry Dani. There will be a big hole in your heart - it will never heal - you will just learn how to live with it. Go and spend some time with Cami - she will help you. I wish I was there to give you a big hug. Let me know if there is anything I can do. Thinking of you.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss Dani. Life can be so unfair sometimes. (((((HUGS)))) I think the nicest advice I had received and I will pass to you... give yourself all the time in the world to mourn for your loss. There is no deadline in healing. I will say a prayer for you and your Dad.
Take care.

Hang in there Dani. It will take time. I miss my sister every day and she has been gone for 6 years. I miss my best friend every day and she has been gone for 2 years. I know you were very close to your dad. You will readjust to the change but there will always be a place in your heart that aches for the loss. All you can do is take each day as it comes - some days will be good, some will be bad. Sending big hugs your way.

As Jan said, you never really do stop missing the people you loved, but you do adjust in time to their passing. My grandfather passed away nearly 50 years ago, and I miss him still-- but I have so many good memories of the time I spent with him, and in that way, he will always be with me. I'm sure your father will always be with you in your heart and thoughts, and that will remain a comfort to you all through your life.

I don't know how spiritual you all are, but I'm going to tell you about this. It was really nice (but sad)...I woke up at about 4:30am the other day, because I felt something on my cheek. I opened my eyes and saw my dad beside me, and he had his hand on my cheek. We didn't say anything, but it was very comforting.
