When we got Jasper I was hoping to be his favourite, but he has chosen my eldest daughter. However he loves all of us and is willing to be carried around and go to almost anyone. My husband seems to have more authority over him, I think because he's taller than Jasper when he's on the top of his cage. The downside to my daughter being his favourite is he sometimes is so excited to see her he will actually attack her. He's made her bleed more then a few times.
We have only had a few hormonal problems which included some inappropriate behaviour to the side of my face, which I nipped in the bud quick smart. Like a toddler he just needs to be re directed to something else.

Well that is amazing to hear Jasper's minion. Skye is still very young so is very happy to sit with any of us. My husband is away with work at the moment but last night I put the phone on speaker while Skye was on my shoulder. He went crazy trying to find him!! He was nipping me and nipping the phone because he could hear Scott but not see him lol, so I guess it was something similar to how Jasper is with your daughter. It was hilarious! What happens if or when your eldest daughter leaves home?? Will she take Jasper with her or do you think he'd be just as happy to stay with you?
I really do love that he is so happy to be with any of us:)

That's adorable about your husband and the phone. We do that to Jasper sometimes, it's funny watching him try to figure out where the voices are coming from. He does have a habit of trying to talk over the top of my while I'm on the phone but when he's trying to do that he's doesn't use his words just gibberish that HAS to be louder than me. Jasper will not be going with my daughter if she ever moves out (which isn't likely lol). She has just been away for a week and he was perfectly fine without her, in fact he was probably better behaved as he tends to flock call for her every time she leaves the room.

Fair enough. LOL at your daughter not likely to move out though! Bonding with my husband was the main thing I've been worried about. I did buy Skye for me of course, but my biggest concern (after all the internet searching I did BEFORE I bought him) was that if he did bond with my husband, then he would become aggressive towards myself and our son. Hubby is going to be travelling a lot (has been away all this week) with work from this year (which he hasn't previously done). So I was worried if he bonded to Scott and Scott was going to be away a lot, then Joel and I wouldn't be able to handle him... I do think he is happy with us all at this stage, but some days it seems he prefers Scott..... Skye is only 4.5 months old so doesn't speak yet, but this week has learnt to wolf whistle. So he was wolf whistling all over the place trying to find Scott, hahahaha

I would guess if you had two young Quakers in same cage that they would bond to each other more and not to you.
But then again if you worked with each of them daily maybe you’d get a nice pet who would also have a bird friend.
I wonder if they’d pair bond upon sexual maturity and then defend the cage from you.
I adopted Willow 3 1/2 yrs ago. He wanted to be close to me even in the ride home and he was a sort of wild bird, flying around his owners house. He wants daily cuddles and it’s usually hard to give him enough cuddle. But recently he sometimes just wants a few minutes and then wants to explore or look for the food bag.
He’s a very loving bird. He wants to spend part if each day pressed against my face getting head rubs. I’ve posted that his beak overgrows and I purchased a nail grinder to trim the sharp tooth. I’ve used it twice and he was over being mad in like a minute. So much less stressful than hand filing the point.

I imagine that trying to bond with two parrots at once would be pretty challenging. It would be easier to establish bonds through one-on-one time with each parrot separately. Just housing two parrots together makes it more likely for them to bond with each other rather than their human companions, and attempting to bond with them together could backfire and strengthen their bond with each other, shutting out the humans.

I tend to agree with what’s been send. Two bonded quakers together in a cage will more likely choose each other. It would work better if they each had their own cage.

Speaking of bonding: Willow and I are watching Chicken Run II. Chicken Run was a great animated film with lots of bird jokes so I’m sure Ii will be good.
I often read or watch videos while cuddling with and scritching bird. He’s busy with his avicake right now but we’ll settle down soon.

Today we are watching nausicaa: valley of the winds; today. Willow got so many cuddles until he was all cuddled out and wanted to go back to his cage.
I’m working with Jasper to calm her down. She started calling much louder and more frequently a couple weeks ago when I had a sinus infection. So when she whistles shrilly, I talk to her. She is starting to chirp more normally again instead of whistling,
I think it’s good for Willow and Jasper to have the company if another parrot.
