Easttex is right-- I've been living with parrots for 46 years, and constantly learn new things. After looking at your videos, I think that Skye is telling you that he's not ready to be touched. Even though he's settling in so well with you, he still needs time to know that he can trust you and feel completely comfortable with being handled. Ralph settled in fairly quickly with me, but it was several months before he was ready to have me scratch his head.

I have something to recommend since your little one is a baby and you will be learning a lot of his signing. Listen carefully for his language and try to repeat it as well. I have found that I get better results when I speak "parrot" instead of asking the parrot to speak "human". A few that I know are ...the danger call... which I use if he is in a bad situation.... the comfort call... purring... the loud calls that come in many tones... some are "come here" some are "thank you"etc. Each call (you will notice) is slightly different. Try your best to learn their language as well as they learn ours.
Oscar has a nice little call when he wants me to pass him a tie-wrap of a piece of cardboard for his house. (slave driver)

I found myself doing that anyway. In almost all situations so far, when I think I'm training Byron to do something, it turns out that he is, in fact, training me to do it. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up in a harness flying round the garden on his command in a few weeks!
