I'm quite pleased with myself today. I've had my food processor for awhile, but just today decided to see if pureed fruit was "drinkable".....so, I pitted a handful of cherries that have started to become over-ripe, tossed them in the food processor with a little water, and in seconds had cherry juice! It was quite tasty. I need to try doing this with other things! My original plan was blueberries from our bush...which yesterday was overflowing with ripe berries. Unfortunately, something came on the deck last night and ate every last ripe berry. So I tried it with the store-bought cherries. Do any of you have other ideas for things to make using the food processor? I've made pesto sauce before, which is fabulous. I want to make hummus, but haven't yet.

I never have used mine a whole lot. Too lazy. I use it even less since I got a stick blender. Now if I need to purée something like soup (I'm always searching for the perfect roasted red pepper soup recipe), I do it right in the pot. Cherry juice sounds good. Did you have to strain it, or did the skins just purée right into the mix?

It was rather um....pulpy, if you will, because of the skins....I didn't add quite enough water to the second batch I made, so the consistency was like that of a smoothie.

There's another recipe that I'm going to try tomorrow....I can't say more right now, because it's for hubby's birthday.....but wish me luck!
