I can't get Bishop to take a bath. He's terrified of any water that isn't in his water bowl.

Interesting... I wonder why he is so afraid?

Being he's had 4 owners anything could've happened. For all I know he could've been punished with water at some point in his life like how some people will punish their dogs by spraying them with water. I've heard of people doing that to birds too. I've tried to get Bishop to like the water but he panics every time. He'll dip is feet in his water bowl but that's it. Even watching Skye enjoy her baths doesn't make him want to join in the fun.

Cupcake is obviously in the Elite Club (along with Ralph). She gets a nice glass/pyrex baking dish and newspaper spread underneath it on a nice table. Bonnie just has a half size 'normal' baking tray which we prop on the kitchen window sill. She spreads water everywhere, but we just wait for the drops to dry and wipe the sinks & benches afterwards (lazy, I know). Cupcake looks SOAKED! It's cute.

Poor little Bishop - if only he could summon up the courage, I'm sure he would LOVE the experience of a bath.

It will probably take time for Bishop to enjoy having a bath. Shah's bath is a pyrex baking dish - we went through a few dishes before he found one he liked. I put a towel underneath it and he has his very own (small) bath towel for drying off.

Ah, yeah that makes sense... Sad that people will do such things. It seems possible that in time Bishop will realize how enjoyable a bath is, especially with Skye as an example.

Well, we won't dispute her Elite Club membership, but Cupcake typically gets that pyrex dish, but the newspaper and the nice table are a fixture of my parents' house. We just set her up on the counter and wipe it down when she's done when she's at home. Or she gets bathed in the shower.

When it comes to bath time, Ralph is right in there with the common folk-- he bathes in his drinking water dish. Nothing fancy about that. Of course, he does expect to be misted at the same time, and he gets to bathe in bottled spring water. Appropriate for a Gentleman Quaker, but also necessary because our tap water is so heavily chlorinated.

See, even Cupcake doesn't get bottled spring water to bathe in! But our tap water is actually pretty decent here (my fish are very happy about this), so it isn't a requirement.

Mr P mustve gone to the same school of bathing as Ralph did. He will bathe only in his water dish (I have a bigger dish for his water now that he actually sorta fits into) and he expects to be taken outside and misted (on enclosed, screened porch). Mr P does not get misted in spring water, however we do have a water purifying system for our drinking water and his mist bottle contains that.
Like Gary, my tap water is heavily chlorinated and I don't want that on Mr P's feathers.
