Hi! Newbie here. Just wanting to quickly ask for tips on cleaning a small cage that I plan on using for transportation / big cage maintenance / sun time / etc. It recently had a seemingly healthy rainbow lorikeet in it when we babysat him for Christmas. I'm wondering whether hot water & cloth will be enough, or maybe vinegar, or should I purchase a specialised product to be certain my new baby doesn't catch any illnesses...

After a general cleaning, wipe it with a 10:1 water/bleach solution, and rinse it well. That will sterilize it. As long as there is plenty of time to dry and air it, there's no harm to the bird. I use vinegar and water for general cage cleaning, along with Poop Off, but sterilize cages between birds.
