I've been monitoring my quaker's weight using a gram scale since he was diagnosed with cancer and had a lump removed in September. The last time I weighed him in November 16 he was 137 g. I just weighed him this morning and he is 149 g !!!! What is going on. I have not changed his diet. Food is in bowls as usual. Could he be eating more or is he sick? no change to his usual behavior. I am afraid there could be some massive tumour growing inside him. I can't feel anything on the outside.
Thanks

Do you have a healthy baseline weight on him? It's a really good idea to weigh them weekly or so, so you get an idea of what's happening with them. One way to tell a bird is overweight for its size is to feel around the keel bone for excessive fat, but if you haven't felt around there before, it won't tell you much.
In your shoes, I would at least call your vet for an opinion.

Yeah. .good idea to have him checked out or scanned by a vet..blood test too probably to rule out any other problems or to see how he is handling any meds he takes. Cancer cells take up quite a bit more energy than healthy cells do, which is why patients such as myself (metastatic bone disease )gain weight back after treatment or removal of a active tumor. I went from 230 to 170 and now 200 after treatments. Like me,he's probably eating a bit more than usual, but with no competition from the cancer cells,he's gaining up. What's more important would be to keep an eye on his activity level as you have been, and his food intake. Keep a log if ya can and report any changes to your vet. How old is he? Hope he gets better..to assuage your fears,it may very well be a natural thing that will seek it's own balance in time. Keep the faith !

I don't think there is any trouble as long as he is not losing weight. I did make a response to your Aug post when you discovered the original tumor . you might check on my reply in that thread.
Glad to hear that he is doing ok so far !
