After weeks of being outsmarted by one tiny little mouse, I finally got him. He was so light that he wasn't setting off the traps - instead he was having a feast at my expense. So I have taken him right down the backyard and released him. Now I will worry about how he will go in the "wild" but he was quite distressed in the trap so thought it was best to let him out (at 4.30am in the morning). I will miss him scurrying about in the evenings but my concern was that if it was a female, I might end up with a mouse infestation.

Good job, Jan! I am like you, I would have released it too (but my hubby is not as charitable..). Mice are resourceful little creatures so he/she will probably be fine.

My sister's family are definitely not mouse lovers. I learned that the other day when I was hanging out with my nieces and there were snapping mouse traps everywhere.
We were playing a game and my oldest niece screamed "A mouse!" and asked me to put a trap next to a certain hole in the wall. I tried to sabotage the trap by putting it too far away, but my niece caught on. LOL
She said "No Ti, you have to put it closer." and I said "But I don't want it to die!" LOL She gave me a look (she felt bad) and said "It HAS to die, because it's in our living area." LOL
