Every day I am amazed at the antics my little boy gets up to. I find it fascinating on how he plays with toys and how long they can keep him occupied for. Some of the toys I have bought for him and other handmade. Some of the handmade ones are straws cut up into short lengths and then put on a string and hung up, ping pong balls he chases around the bottom of the cage cleaned pine cones and plastic bottle caps. His favorite toy is a ball made for birds which makes a noise when moved. He also has a mirror that you can do a 10 second recording of your voice on for when you aren't in the room. Every week I rotate the toys. My daughter reckons he has more toys than the dogs

Wish Shah would play with toys. However, you have given me some ideas and I will try them out.

Like Jan, I wish Bonnie would play with toys...it sounds like you are really going well with your little quaker boy.

Ralph is indifferent to most parrot toys, preferring to play with things like stainless steel spoons and strings. I'm sure your ideas will be helpful and might be a good guide for people whose parrots don't play with their toys.

I am the same as the others... Oscar does not want to play with toys... and I know exactly why too. That is because I am the toy... which is not always a good thing. The only thing he is really interested in... other than me... would be the toilet paper roll... which he beats up like crazy. So funny to watch him such a big strong bully against the paper toilet roll... lol

That's so interesting! Maya loves her toys! She has loads and I encourage her to play with them as much as possible. I also rotate them often. She had toys on her play stand and in her cage, and will happily chew and beak things to her heart's content. I'm glad she does, as it means I'm not so worried about her if I happen to be away for the day. Keeping up the harness training though, as then we can go on more outings together!
